Review | Revlon Colourstay Foundation

Hiy everyone!

Today I'm going to be reviewing Revlon Colourstay Foundation in Ivory. I have the type for combination/oily skin but there is also an option for normal/dry skin too!

Cover - In my personal opinion, the cover of this foundation is brilliant. I have extremely oily skin so finding a foundation to stay put is always a difficult task but I feel this really lives up to my expectations, although with my skin there is no way it would last for 24 hours! It is also quite good at disguising pores, I have enlarged pores around and on my nose and in this department I think it does well yet it doesn't cover them up completely. As a girl who has never been into using concealer (being fair skinned and finding a non-oranged toned concealer is a big feat!) this foundation does well in covering up blemishes without the use of it! One thing about this foundation some may not like is that it is a very heavy foundation. A small amount only needs to be used, too much can look like paste all over your face, but I am hoping this can be good a good thing and it will last longer than a thinner foundation. In summer months, I will probably mix it with a little moisturiser.

Colour - As someone with very fair skin, I find it very difficult to find a foundation to match my skin tone. Many a time I have brought a foundation and ended up looking orange or pink, which can be quite embarrassing! This foundation I feel really hits the mark for those of us who are very pale! It blends brilliantly with my skin tone, so well in fact some people don't even realise I'm wearing foundation and just think I have a really good complexion! BLISS!

Price - As a student, price can be a very important indicator on whether I will purchase a product or not. At £12.49, it isn't the cheapest foundation out there, but it definitely, in my opinion, isn't expensive. For the quality that is reached here by Revlon, I am more than happy to pay this again, finding a foundation that matches my skin tone and my skin type is a real bother and with both of these Revlon hits the mark for me.

Overall - I am really pleased with this product and I will definitely be purchasing this again. With the foundation definitely not lasting 24 hours, even 12 hours would be a push with my skin and also for it being heavy I will deduct a point but it is still an outstanding foundation!
Well done Revlon you get a 9/10!

So that is it for today, I hope this gives you good insight in to how this product might work for you :)

Keep sparkling!

  6. Daniella, I have never tried wake me up, maybe I'll venture to it one day as I do have quite dull skin, so thanks for the recommendation :)

Jazzy, L'oreal Infaillible foundation in Porcelain is also great if you have fair skin, and is my second favourite foundation :) Try some on the inside of your arm when you next out and see which one might be best for you :)

Christina, I have combination skin which means I get both oily and dry skin at the same time! When it does get really dry this foundation is pretty poor, but I have found most foundations make me look like I have scales when its dry! But they do also have the same foundation for normal to dry so maybe you could see if there are any reviews for that type out there :) but sorry I couldn't help you this time!

Thank you all for commenting :)
