Review | Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer

Today I want to review on the Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer. I have been using this for the past month and thought it was time to share my experiences with this primer.

Firstly, the Primer comes out is a very pale pink, and is kind of the same consistency of a light moisturiser. When applied it makes my face so incredibly soft and silk like. I love they way it glides over my skin. It also reduces the appearance of my pores and makes my skin tone more even. It creates a matte base for your make-up which is great for those who have trouble with a shiny t-zone. Unfortunately, there is a downfall with this primer. It does make dry skin more prominent. I moisturise before I apply anything to my face, but once I have applied this primer the dryness on my nose seems to reappear, which equals flakey foundation, YUK! So if someone has extremely dry skin then I don't think this product would be suitable. I think this product as a stand alone product is great, alone without make-up it does make my skin look so much better. But the purpose I brought it for to be applied before make-up isn't as good as I would like it to be.

Secondly, we must discuss cost! This product RRP is £11.99, which as primers go its not much different to other similar ones on the market. I don't feel that this primer is worth the full £11.99 though, since showing up my dry skin on my nose does not help with applying my foundation!

Overall I think i would give this primer 5/10. It is a lovely consistency but it is so hit and miss with my skin type its really unfortunate that something that could have been great ends up being mediocre.

I hope that this gives you some insight into this primer.

Review | Oral B Precision Clean Toothbrush

Today I am reviewing the Oral B Precision Clean Toothbrush that I had for Christmas. I have never been one for an electric toothbrush but after being given one for Christmas I was up for the challenge of dumping my manual toothbrush!

Cleaning - Well the most important factor is the cleaning abilities the toothbrush has! This toothbrush is BRILLIANT! My teeth have never felt so clean outside of a dentist's chair! This toothbrush has the right speed and seems to get into the areas that my manual toothbrush just can't get to. I have very cramped together teeth so nooks and crannies can sometimes be hard to clean but the brush head is small and seems to reach these areas! I also have wisdom teeth growing and I have a small mouth so reaching the back can make me gag(sorry for the TMI) but with this that wasn't a problem as the brush head was smaller. This toothbrush also pauses for a second every 30 seconds to remind you to go on to the next quadrant, this happens 3 times, on the fourth time which is after 2 minutes, it pauses twice to tell you to finish brushing. I think this is genius! Everywhere I run my tongue along my teeth its plaque free and my mouth feels super fresh, INCREDIBLE!

Handling - Sometimes using a electric toothbrush can be hard to hold especially since the handle is much bigger than a usual manual toothbrush. This toothbrush is quite slim which does make it easier to hold then one I have previously, but I am still not used to the size or the weight that the brush which makes me a little clumsy with the brush, but I expect over time that will improve. It does also have grip on the handle which does make it easy to hold.

Design - Now on to the design, I firstly want to shout out that it is PINK! Which is super cute in my opinion. The design is really cute and I love the way it looks. Its so smart and incorporated in the pink-ness is grip so it helps you keep that toothbrush in your hand! It is a little heavier than your normal toothbrush which is hard to get used to but in a few weeks I should be used to that. One of the other things I love about this toothbrush is that it comes with a handy travel case which has space for two toothbrush heads. As some one who loves travelling and also travels a lot between university and home this is a brilliant extra!

Overall - I can't really give a rating on the price as this was given as a present. So rating without that in mind, I will give this brush 10/10! I love this toothbrush and can't wait to use it everyday! I know my teeth will be much cleaner from now on and my manual toothbrush is on the way to the tip!

Thanks of reading!

Review | Revlon Colourstay Foundation

Hiy everyone!

Today I'm going to be reviewing Revlon Colourstay Foundation in Ivory. I have the type for combination/oily skin but there is also an option for normal/dry skin too!

Cover - In my personal opinion, the cover of this foundation is brilliant. I have extremely oily skin so finding a foundation to stay put is always a difficult task but I feel this really lives up to my expectations, although with my skin there is no way it would last for 24 hours! It is also quite good at disguising pores, I have enlarged pores around and on my nose and in this department I think it does well yet it doesn't cover them up completely. As a girl who has never been into using concealer (being fair skinned and finding a non-oranged toned concealer is a big feat!) this foundation does well in covering up blemishes without the use of it! One thing about this foundation some may not like is that it is a very heavy foundation. A small amount only needs to be used, too much can look like paste all over your face, but I am hoping this can be good a good thing and it will last longer than a thinner foundation. In summer months, I will probably mix it with a little moisturiser.

Colour - As someone with very fair skin, I find it very difficult to find a foundation to match my skin tone. Many a time I have brought a foundation and ended up looking orange or pink, which can be quite embarrassing! This foundation I feel really hits the mark for those of us who are very pale! It blends brilliantly with my skin tone, so well in fact some people don't even realise I'm wearing foundation and just think I have a really good complexion! BLISS!

Price - As a student, price can be a very important indicator on whether I will purchase a product or not. At £12.49, it isn't the cheapest foundation out there, but it definitely, in my opinion, isn't expensive. For the quality that is reached here by Revlon, I am more than happy to pay this again, finding a foundation that matches my skin tone and my skin type is a real bother and with both of these Revlon hits the mark for me.

Overall - I am really pleased with this product and I will definitely be purchasing this again. With the foundation definitely not lasting 24 hours, even 12 hours would be a push with my skin and also for it being heavy I will deduct a point but it is still an outstanding foundation!
Well done Revlon you get a 9/10!

So that is it for today, I hope this gives you good insight in to how this product might work for you :)

What I Got For Christmas | '13

Hiy everyone! Here's just a few things I got for Christmas this year :) I have also done a youtube video (which is at the bottom of this post) to go with this so check it out! It lists the things that I had and theres a few things in the video that aren't in the pictures!

Firstly, this is some of the make-up and hair products I had. I got two Revlon Photoready Primers, two Revlon Colourstay Foundations Combination/Oily in Ivory, 2 Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express Mascara, a free Revlon Nail Polish in Stunning and two Bleach London hair dyes in Blullini and Rose (I highly rate these products, 3 weeks on and my hairs still blue!). I will be rating some of these products in an upcoming blog!

This is something I am super excited to share with you. For a couple years I have wanted Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb perfume but unfortunately it has always been outside of my price range. Thanks to my Mom and Dad I know own a bottle! It such a gorgeous smell and for anyone who gets the stingy nose thing when smelling perfume I suggest something like this.

As lucky as I have already been with my Flowerbomb perfume, my Mom and Dad surprised me again with this Oral B Professional Care Toothbrush in Precision Clean. It even comes with a handy travel case which is perfect for someone who loves to travel and is constantly to-ing and fro-ing from university and home. I will be reviewing this on my blog to so look out for it if your interested in getting one yourself!

I also got some jewellery this year, as someone who is a fan of understated pieces I LOVE EVERYTHING I GOT! I had some dangly earrings which look really cute with a monochrome casual outfit as they really add a different dimension to an outfit. These were from my Mom and Dad. My best friend in the whole wide world brought me some lovely pieces from Kukee, if you haven't already go check out their shop! I had a moon necklace, wings necklace, pinkie promise necklace (how adorable!), peace ring, planet ring, midi ring and my favourite an anchor ring.

This pinkie promise necklace is so beautiful and original I love it!

This anchor ring is my favourite as when my best friend Dan gave it to me, he told me he brought it as I am his anchor :') How beautiful my Dan is <3

This is one of my favourite necklaces of all time, so you can probably tell I am a massive Harry Potter fan! This 9 and 3/4 necklace was also given to me by Dan (he knows me 100%!) and is so perfect! It is in antique gold and has a mid length chain which makes it great for dressing up a plain T.

This cute Boofle teddy, was given to me by my Mom and Dad. It has a cute little coat on which says very special daughter and the coat can even be taken off! I love things like this, they are very dear to my heart and Booey has came back with me to my flat at university to keep me company :)

So there we go, just a few thing that I have been really privileged to be given :) Look out for some reviews on the products and I hope to see you back very soon!

Outfits | Dreaming of summer.

Autumn and Winter are my favourite seasons, I love the weather, food, time spent with family and love those orange, red and brown colours you can pull from the wardrobe. Yet, there has been very little snow and early sunny frosty mornings and many rainy and extremely windy weeks, YUK! So I'm sat here dreaming of summer to be back so I can pull out some skirts I brought just as autumn was beginning from various charity shops. I had all three for under £10! Very thrifty!

I can't wait to wear this outfit with curly hair, minimum make-up and some t-bar shoes!

I love adding a bit of grunge to my outfit and this skirt can definitely do that when teamed with this black crop top and feather necklace. This skirt is so versatile! It looks great with a cream shirt for a work look or a cream jumper which really brings this skirt into a winter look!

This skirt is so this season and I brought this in august before even knowing this type of skirt would be a hit! It is actually like a kilt in the way it fastens and I have to safety pin it down so I don't catch the wind and reveal to much! Unfortunately the coat I have brought this year doesn't go well with it so I'm saving this for when the temperatures are higher in spring.

I hope you like these outfits and give you some early inspiration for spring/summer :)
